<International Circulation>:  What is your advice for reducing ischemic time to improve outcomes?

    Dr Thiele: First of all， we have to educate our patients. It is very important that they recognize the symptoms and call for an ambulance as early as possible. It is also important that we have an efficient medical emergency system which makes a pre-hospital diagnosis and then admits the patient directly to the primary PCI center. Of course， we importantly need very short door-to-door times as well.

    <International Circulation>:  Could you explain the process markers for STEMI ischemic time assessment?

    Dr Thiele: The most important markers are registries so we can look at what all the hospitals do – that they are treating the patients according to the guidelines， looking at door-to-balloon times， looking at contact-to-balloon times and so on.
