《国际循环》:Sacco博士,在美国心脏学会2010年科学年会上有许多有趣的研讨,您可以突出讲一下您觉得的最有趣的话题吗?
Dr Sacco: Well, there are many late breaking clinical trials that are being shown at Sessions 2010. Many of them focusing on different aspects of cardiovascular disease, including, new treatments for atrial fibrillation, new direct thrombin inhibitors and factor Xa inhibitors. There are reports from large clinical trials for heart failure including some drugs that are being tested to improve heart failure outcomes. There is a late breaking report from an early trial showing the safety of a new drug to raise HDL among patients with coronary heart disease. There are reports of new findings on the benefits of stem cells in heart failure and also the report of the CLOSURE trial showing the lack of efficacy for closure of a patent foramen ovale among patients with cryptogenic stroke or TIA. The meeting is packed full of great new information on the management, prevention and treatments for cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
